Many a time students don’t do well in school because they don’t know where to go or what to aim for. They wander aimlessly through their curriculum without identifying weakness and setting SMART goals for themselves.
This is especially true for the age group I teach which comprises of 9 and 10 year olds. However, surprisingly I have met even adults without these skills.
Recently while browsing through the internet, I came across these interesting articles with activities to teach children the skill of setting goals for themselves.
It’s called “4 Step Guide to Help Students Set Effective Goals (Plus a Bonus Tip)”.
Here’s another article with various activities to help children set goals. These activities can be done in the class or by parents and guardians at home.
Don’t forget just setting the goal isn’t important, we must also review our goals after regular intervals of time.
Hope this helps.
