(verb) go on board a ship or aircraft
Sentence– Christopher Columbus embarked for India in the fifteenth century.
ii. (verb) begin a course of action
Sentence– Ria left her previous job and embarked on a new career as a teacher.
I could think of many connections with this word. It reminds me of texts in your textbooks too.
- What does it remind you of?
- Do you plan to embark on something new in life?
- Can anybody give a synonym too? It’s rather simple. You use it almost everyday.
